European Cooperation Day – online coffee-hours #ecday2020

Since 2012, EU member countries and their partner countries have been celebrating European Cooperation Day in September. It has become a good tradition to carry out thematic events to praise achievements and possibilities of cross-border and interregional cooperation. This year is a special one
the Interreg community celebrates 30 years of Interreg and cooperation encouraging regions and countries to tackle challenges they can solve only by working together.

We celebrated with online coffee-hours #ecday2020

In total of ca. 80 project representatives and Programme’s stakeholders gathered together online with MA and BO personnel on 24 and 25 September, to review changes and challenges that Covid-19 pandemic restrictions have put to our common working environment.

On the positive side, all present projects have been able to continue pursuing their objectives and partners have found digital tools to be very effective and useful. Even those projects that have more focus for on-site activities, have managed to adapt, re-schedule and implement with limited audiences and safety-instructions.

On the challenges side, the situation has demanded additional commitment from all partners to carry on, resources to reorganize activities and budgets, and of course, patience to handle the necessary paper-work under the Grant Contract.

Our joint hope is that 2021 will take us back to circumstances were cross-border cooperation includes face-to-face meetings and we can organize also traditional seminars and events. Thanks to all participants for sharing your experiences and having a coffee-hour with us!
